This blog is about incorporating science into a school age classroom. The activity used in this blog is “Baking cookies” which is a great way for children to start to build hypothesis as they predict what is going to happen when they bake their cookies. They can make connections to past experiences as they may engage in role-playing as bakers while they are baking. They will have lots of opportunities to explore the materials to start understanding and building math concepts as they work with measuring cups, creating graphs and building language skills as they have class and peer discussions.
